Golf is firmly at the heart of the Kendleshire Experience, and with 27 memorable championship holes spread over nearly 260 acres of the stunning Frome valley, it is no wonder.

The Hollows and Ruffet Courses were opened in 1997 to much critical acclaim. Designed by Adrian Stiff they both feature a healthy amount of water, such as the “Island Green” 11th hole with Adrian’s trademark sleeper-banks, and provide a challenge to many a good scorecard. The Peter McEvoy-designed Badminton Course opened in 2001, built to compliment its sister courses whilst adding an extra degree of challenge with its undulating greens.

The Kendleshire is a regional centre of excellence for practicing, our extensive facilities often being used by the county and national teams.

Each of the courses has its own stand-out holes, and when played in any combination offer the visiting golfer just as much enjoyment as the home one. The white tees provide a very stern test, however from the yellow posts there are plenty of pars and birdies to be had. All of the greens are built to USPGA standard and are the foundation of the course’s reputation, and as such the club has always had a soft spikes only policy. This has paid rich dividends as far as maintaining the quality of the putting surfaces.

The clubhouse provides a very vibrant atmosphere and with the most famous terrace in the area overlooking the 18th green every shot up the final hole is always dramatic!
